Jay-Z is keeping his composure at # 1 on the Billboard album charts. Just last week, Hov made history by surpassing Elvis Presley with his new album The Blueprint 3.
The Blueprint 3 shifted 298,000 copies in its second week. Even though Jay had some competition from Drake and Kid Cudi, none of them had spectacular sales.
Could it be that Jigga had a lot of press for this album? As everyone knows, he appeared on both the VMAs and The Jay Leno Show in the same week. Plus he organized a concert at
Jay-Z dodged the 60-75 percent sales drop that spoils some artists for that second week in sales. He only lost 37 percent because of his promo performances. Presently, The Blueprint 3 is at gold status with 476,000 in sales; if his albums sales progress it would likely lead to platinum.
