**NOT WAVY** 6 POLICEMEN KILLED IN AMBUSH IN MEXICO...DRUGWAR CONTINUES!!!

CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico — Gunmen ambushed two police vehicles at busy intersection in Ciudad Juarez on Friday, killing six officers and a 17-year-old girl who was passing by, authorities said.

Chihuahua state spokesman Enrique Torres Valadez said five of the six police officers were federal, and one was municipal. Authorities said the police officers in the vehicles were distracted by someone selling items on the street when the gunmen opened fire. The assailants then fled in three vehicles.

Investigators said they don't know why the officers were shot, although they don't believe they were targeted because of any recent arrests they had made.

No one has been arrested but police said they have recovered two of the three cars used in the shooting.

Ciudad Juarez is one of the world's deadliest cities, and a two-year turf battle between drug cartels has left more than 5,000 people dead.

Elsewhere, police in Guerrero said they found the bodies of five men who had been shot to death lying on a dirt road near Chilpancingo, the capital of the Pacific coast state. Three of the men were brothers, all in their 20s.

The state has been a major battleground for warring cartels, including the Beltran Leyva gang, but it was not clear whether the shootings were part of the ongoing drug violence.

In Morelos state, federal police and the Mexican military raided two ranch homes and arrested eight people near the town of Amacuzac. Those arrested were taken to Mexico City in a helicopter. Authorities said they are suspected drug traffickers.

An estimated 22,700 people have been killed in Mexico's drug war since December 2006.

Pitchfork Reviews Wiz Khalifa's "Kush and Orange Juice"

Kids love them some Wiz Khalifa. In a recent Washington City Paper review, the rap blogger Noz described a sold-out 9:30 Club full of late-teens/early-twenties fans, all singing along with the young Pittsburgh rapper's entire set. A little bit of YouTube research shows similar scenes-- at clubs across the country, not just the ones in the Eastern corridor. And when Kush and Orange Juice, the new Wiz mixtape, hit the internet last week, it was a #1 Twitter trending topic for most of the day. And though it's important not to put too much stock in something as ephemeral as trending topics, it at least means there are a whole lot of people talking about a rapper with no major label deal and no superstar allegiances. It's pretty impressive.

Wiz's appeal isn't too hard to figure out. Though he lost his deal with Warner Bros. a while back, you never hear any of the bitterness usually associated with big-label refugees. Instead, he talks his shit with a blasé assurance; one chorus on the mixtape goes, "We belong on the top, but we ain't trippin'/ Cuz we'll get there in a minute." For the most part, he raps about only three things: Weed, girls, and smoking weed with girls (usually your girl). His rap style is easy and conversational, a pinched murmur that never leans too hard on punchlines or narrative. He's got this donkey giggle that he lets loose often, and it might beat out Lil Wayne's guffaw as rap's most irritating laugh, no mean feat. He sounds like the kid two dorm rooms down, bragging about whatever insane party he was at last night while he munches Froot Loops out of the box and watches cartoons on the common-room TV. He's charismatic in a completely relatable way.

He's also got a great ear for beats. The tracks are airy, diffuse things, full of smooth 1980s-funk synths and drums that amble along slowly and quietly. His choices in samples suggest a lot of time watching TV while stoned: Frou Frou's Garden State end-credits song "Let Go" on "In the Cut", Disney princess Demi Lovato's Camp Rock soundtrack single "Our Time Is Here" on "We're Done". "Good Dank" is all warm, rippling psych-funk-- its guitars and organs woozy as all hell, its drums completely nonexistent. And rather than bulldozing through these beats, Wiz just dances around them, never letting his delivery settle into a consistent cadence. Often, he sings his choruses in a calm, casual quaver. Sometimes, he skips rapping altogether. On "Up", he spends four minutes just singing the praises of weed over spaced-out Rhodes plinks, ending by repeating, "Everything's better when you're high," over and over.

When a more conventional rapper like Killa Kyleon or Big K.R.I.T. shows up, the contrast speaks volumes. Those guys are both very good at what they do, but they sound almost old-fashioned in this context, nicely breaking up the half-committed shit-talk. Wiz never sounds like he has a lot at stake; he talks like life is a long, unchanging progression of joints and hotel rooms and girls, which, for him, maybe it is. Among his most characteristic lines is this: "While you at home on Twitter, trying to hack her page and shit/ We smoking and cracking jokes on how lame you is." That kind of indolent wit can lead to some truly dubious ideas, like when Wiz sang Beyoncé's "If I Were a Boy" as "If I Were a Lame" on 2009's Burn After Rolling mixtape, or when he tries his hand at reggae on "Still Blazin" here. But for the most part, Kush and Orange Juice is a surprisingly relaxed and easy listen, a great soundtrack for a barbecue or a spring-weather drive. And that's all it wants to be, so mission accomplished.

**WTF** Cam’ron and Jim Jones rebuild friendship, Jimmy issues public apology!!!!

MissInfo Quotes:

Last week I had a conversation with two old friends. But what was remarkable about this wasn’t the fact that they called, or even what we talked about….what really meant something is that, for the first time in over three years, these two guys were calling me together…

“Minya, it’s Jimmy….I’m sitting in the passenger seat of this car right now. I want you to talk to the driver real quick.”

“Ok, Jimmy.”

[brief pause] “What up, Min. It’s Cam…”

Yes!! Now we’re finally getting somewhere…Before I could start grilling them about the who/what/where/why/when….Jimmy made it very clear that he had to get something off his chest, with Cam right there…

Jim Jones said: “It’s 2010, and this is something I gotta get off my chest…You’ve known us from back when we didn’t have what we have now, so you remember, that above all, me and Cam, we still brothers. And we’re building on getting back on track but first, I apologize for being a rude brother, for saying things publicly without first trying to handle them privately. I apologize for not leading by example because what I didn’t realize at the time, I was venting but it wasn’t all about me. There were other people whose dreams were also part of this movement. So by not leading by example, they were left stranded too. The way I handled our business issues was with emotion, and it got totally f–ked up. That’s what selfishness does….”

read the rest after the jump

Jim Jones (cont.): “…I have demons that I’m learning to deal with. We’re all successful, me and Cam and Juelz, so we’re blessed. But that comes with responsibilities. I had complaints and I’m not backing away from the issues I had, but I’m just mad at how I handled them. The business of the Diplomats could have been fixed before. But by putting my emotions out in the public, it only made things worse. And of course, some of us became bitter about it. We had this luxurious life, but the rest of the family, they had slow down because of the ball I started rolling. I’d be pissed at me too…

But God works in mysterious ways…a couple people took vacations, and there’s a lane that’s wide open. What we built solo since Dipset grew apart, we can combine and make even stronger together. I needed to clear my conscious before we work on building a bigger and better movement. Plus, consider it fair warning to everyone else.”

When Cam got back on the phone, he was definitely more pragmatic and cautious with his words.

Cam’ron: “There’s nothing really Diplomats-related to show you yet. We all have our own obligations right now, our own projects. I have this Boss of All Bosses Pt. 2.5 mixtape with Vado and DJ Drama dropping soon. But yes, me and Jim have been speaking, we’re working out the mechanics of this, and looking at our options right now. If it makes sense, it can happen.”

Ok, so no speeding, Dipset fans. Let’s not call it a “reunion” just yet. But this is still progress, especially since the last time the subject came up.

Tracing the history of the Dipset split and the rollercoaster ride that followed, it always felt like the main problem was a communication disconnect. Two brothers who stopped talking to each other and just talked at one another. The lack of communication prompted Jimmy to air out his gripes about Cam. Third Diplomats member, Juelz tried to stay neutral but without dialogue he eventually walked off on his own. The public comments made Cam so disillusioned with his own crew that he walked away. Then everyone started moving dolo: alliances were made and concert appearances, and reactions followed. Time passed…and MTV reported that Cam and Jimmy spoke. But then Jimmy backed away. It was 2 steps forward, 3 steps back. But then last March, Jimmy offered another peace pipe to Cam on the Funk Flex Show.
“…if Cam is listening, maybe we can sit down and get some business together and…give the people what they want.”

And it’s true. Through it all, that is still what “the people” have always wanted. They want to see Killa Cam and Jim Jones, in a stretch limo with a hottub in the trunk, Juelz Santana on deck with a bandana on…all rhyming over a Kanye West or Just Blaze beat with a good sped-up sample; ) I don’t want it if its just a series of .wav files sent via AIM. I want 5H. But I’ll even take a couple guys who have grown out of 5H, having a couple drinks and reliving the struggle they came through, and enjoying the chemistry that they still share.
